The Ferryman

An old ferryman has spent his whole life sailing back and forth between two riverbanks. On a beautiful summer afternoon, he decides to cut the ropes of his ferryboat and let the current take him along the river to see what else the world has in store. He sees the people he has transported to the other side, year after year, and the cargo vessels and pleasure craft that have passed hum all that time. Eventually, the friendly ferryman ends up in a place where he wants to live and van enjoy a panoramic view.
