Chris the mouse is a true leader. When he sees other mice struggling to pick a strawberry, he knows exactly what they should do: follow him! He knows where they can find a delicious banana. So off they set, with Chris out in front. But is he really such a good leader? As the journey goes on, the mice become increasingly bruised and battered. When Chris hops into a boat and orders the other mice to swim after him, it is the last straw. They let him drift away — and there he floats, all by himself. He realises that a leader is not much use on his own… You are much stronger together!
With plenty of humour, Liset Celie shows in Follow Me! that while a (self-appointed) leader may be able to point the way, you only really get ahead when you work together.
