Like many good things, Art All-Stars came about a bit by accident. But now, our funny art book series for children has become a bookshelf staple in the Netherlands and abroad, at home and at school. In the book series, Thaïs Vanderheyden recreates for children some of the greatest paintings in the
history of art. The original artworks are also shown beside her humorous junior versions, of course. By reimagining these famous pictures, she captures her young readership’s attention and draws their little eyes to works of art that can sometimes be difficult to understand.
The illustrations are accompanied by anecdotal stories that put the masterpieces in the context of the bigger picture of history.
