Jet Parent is an illustrator who creates illustrations in which colour, from bright to subtle, and atmosphere, from eerie to idyllic, prevail. She studied Illustration Design at ArtEZ University of the Arts as well as Falmouth University. She is mostly inspired by graphic novels, fairytales, children’s literature, travelogues and nature, and enjoys working with gouache and coloured pencils. Her graphic novel Aberfala (2018) got selected for The Unpublished Picturebook Showcase and was exhibited at the Frankfurt Book Fair of 2019.
After her graduation from ArtEZ University of the Arts in 2018, Jet continued to fuel her passion for art and culture in an additional way by studying Arts and Culture Studies and completing her master’s degree Art Policy and the Business of Art at Radboud University. Currently, she is junior director of communications at the Villa Mondriaan museum in Winterswijk, while simultaneously working on various illustration projects.
