Marije Tolman draws stories in her studio in the old centre of The Hague. In her work she combines graphic techniques such as relief printing, intaglio and planography with watercolour, gouache, pencil, pen and ink. For her wordless picture book, The Tree House, which she created with her father, Marije won prizes including the Golden Paintbrush and the prestigious Bologna Ragazzi Award. Her picture books have been published in more than 15 different countries.
